Thanks to all of you that made the trip to Mastermix HQ last night, i was completely overwhelmed by the turnout. Many thanks to everyone that turned up from far and wide last night, Wales, Chester, London etc, hope you all had a great time. Once again thanks to Richard from Mastermix, Simon from Discotechnology for his continued support and all the exhibitors that gave up their time to come and do this event. Hope it was worthwhile for everyone involved

By now you should know about the event at Mastermix's HQ in Rotherham next Wednesday night
A fantastic event for all DJs !!
On Wednesday the 24th of November get yourself over to Rotherham to attend the last Yorkshire Branch meeting of the year at the famous Mastermix/Music factory HQ.

Richard Lee (Mastermix Label Manager) has generously allowed us free reign over the entire building for the evening to host our meeting plus tours of the studios, opening up their winter sale earlier and loads more!

And of course, all the usual product demos and a Q&A with the Mastermix team as well. Our supporting retailer Discotechonology will also be on hand with a brand new raft of members offers to tempt you

It's a little frustrating after I hammered every means of communication the last couple of weeks to make sure everyone knew when, what and where it was all going on, to face an half empty room. Still, we press on, keep watching for more details on forthcoming meetings and events on the facebook group, twitter, the NADJ website, here and on various forums

Wedding DJ Tips

Mobilebeat magazine in the states has some great articles, not all of them can translate to the UK but dig deep and there's some great nuggets of info!
There's some good advice here http://www.mobilebeat.com/category/dj-university/wedding-college/ weed out some of the Americanisms and skip some the strange customs and there's some good sound advice to being what the Americans would call a "wedding professional".

Over in the US they're more like wedding planners, but take as much or as little on board, whatever you think will work for you, check out some of the lighting and sound articles on the menu on the right as well.

Welcome to the home of N.A.D.J. Yorkshire

The Yorkshire Branch is our newest branch not yet a year old and is growing from strength to strength, hopefully we can post all our news, pictures and videos here to supplement the growing wealth of info on our main organisation site www.nadj.org.uk .

The National Association of Disc Jockeys was formed in January 2004, as a natural evolution of the UK’s leading regional association for over 25 years, the Thames Valley Disc Jockeys’ Association. The transition from the regional to National association was finalised at the AGM in March 2004, when the name was formally changed and the TVDJA became an integral part of the new NADJ.

The Association has always had strong links with the Disco Industry as a whole – with many manufacturers supporting the Association and, indeed, using the Association as a launch-pad for many new products. Several new organisations and companies, such as the now world-wide DMC, Mobile DJ Magazine, Pro-Mobile Magazine and the disco industry charity Dance Aid Trust, were launched with the support of the Association.
In the early 1990’s the Association was instrumental, along with SEDA, in getting the DJ recognised as a true profession and included within the UK trade union BECTU (Broadcasting, Entertainment, Cinematograph & Theatre Union). However, due to internal changes within BECTU, the freelance DJ has been largely forgotten by the Union, with only a few, if any, still members.
The NADJ, with over 25 years of experience behind it, will move forward to better serve its members and to achieve its aims.
